A reminder, for all our members and subscribers, that our AGM will take place on Saturday 10th October. All are welcome, and we’d love to see you there.
This year, we are returning to the eastern end of the Icknield Way and will hold the meeting at the Red Lodge Millennium Centre. Red Lodge Millennium Centre . We’ll be convening at 2.00pm and the meeting will start with a talk from Stephanie Paull, Heritage Officer at West Suffolk Council, titled: “From Beeches Pit to West Stow: 400,000 years of human occupation in the Lark Valley”. After refreshments, the formal AGM will follow its usual format. Additionally, members will be invited to elect a new Chair as I am stepping down from the role. We have an excellent candidate – please come along and meet him.
Before the AGM, everyone is invited to meet informally at West Stow Anglo Saxon Village. This will be an opportunity to renew old acquaintances, look around the village, and perhaps join Doug Landman on a short wall to Beeches Pit at 10.00am. The village is a 15 minute drive from the AGM venue. Entry costs £7.50 plus £3.00 to park. Details can be found on the website: Welcome to West Stow Anglo-Saxon Village & Country Park .
