The Icknield Way Path – A Walkers’ Guide

This week I completed the walk of the Icknield Way. The path makes wonderful walking with so much of it on ancient greenways and with loads of exposure to wildlife. I really enjoyed walking this trail.

But in particular I wish to congratulate your organisation on the “Walkers’ Guide”; this was certainly one of the very best guidebooks I have ever used. It enabled one to easily navigate a path for which waymarking and (sometimes) representation on OS maps can be “tired” and less than evident.

Peter Smith, 2021

The Icknield Way Path Guide contains detailed route descriptions and clear maps, supplemented with notes on the geology, geomorphology, archaeology, flora and bird life along the Path, plus backup information on public transport in the area.

Two alternative routes allow a visit to the interesting village of Toddington, and a final destination at Thetford.

The latest edition of this official path guide reflects changes to the route that have taken place since the fifth edition. Conveniently broken down into eight sections, the guide is liberally illustrated with detailed maps and informative text.
