The Three Churches walk. The walk takes you through Moulton, Dalham and Gazeley, passing by each of the village churches along part of Icknield Way, thought to be one of the oldest roads in Britain. This walk leads you through fields, woodland, country roads and by the River Kennett. A highlight is the Packhorse bridge. There are several variations of the walk, so select the start point and route that suits yourself:

Why not stop at one of the pubs for a meal or a refreshing drink.
Milestone and Information board
The Icknield Way has three stone plinth milestones. This one is well hidden in the vegetation at Knettishall Heath. Knettishall Heath is the the transition from Icknield Way to the Peddars Way. It is located at:

In June 2025, we were thankful to Sam, David, and Collin who all work with the Suffolk Wildlife Trust, and who had agreed to install an Information Board for the Great Chalk Way at the point where the Icknield Way meets the Peddars Way. w3w.co/pins.spellings.contain This is one of three boards sponsored by the Icknield Way Association, and part of a total of five that are now in place along the GCW route.

Route Issues
In Suffolk the route passes through the picturesque villages of Gazeley, Dalham and Moulton and there are wonderful views over the Breckland with its unique landscape of large sandy fields separated by windbreaks of gnarled Scots Pines.
