The Icknield Way Association is pleased to host a free talk in Toddington entitled: The Chilterns Heritage and Archaeology Partnership: What’s that CHAP been doing? by Dr Wendy Morrison, Heritage & Archaeology Manager for Chilterns National Landscape.
CHAP is the Chilterns Heritage and Archaeology Partnership. This talk will outline some of the projects CHAP has carried out and what future work entails, including the environs of the Icknield Way.
Wendy Morrison is Heritage and Archaeology Manager for the Chilterns Natural Landscape (formally the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
She is also Senior Research Associate Tutor for Archaeology at the Oxford University Department for Continuing Education. Wendy’s research areas are Prehistoric European Archaeology and Landscape Archaeology
She was previously Project Manager of the Beacons of the Past Lidar and Hillfort Project. She has nearly two decades excavation experience in Southern Britain, the Channel Islands and India. She is a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries, as well as current President of the Chess Valley Archaeology and Historical Society as well as the Maidenhead and Marlow Archaeology and History Society.
The talk will be followed by the 41st Annual General Meeting will be held in person on Saturday 18th October 2015 at the Wilkinson Church Hall, Church Square, Toddington, Bedfordshire, LU5 6BP (LU5 6AA is the formal address, but there is no car park, LU5 6BP takes you to the south). The church hall is located in a brick/tile building behind the church. There is no car park, but on street parking around Market Square, High Street, Park Road and Luton Road. What3Words location
There will be a circular walk at 10:30 around part of Toddington, not on the Icknield Way, but with views of the hills on the way. If you plan to walk or to attend the talk and/AGM please contact the Secretary so we can ensure sufficient refreshments.
A break for refreshments will be provided prior to the formal AGM. If you wish to hear the talk and your are welcome to stay for the AGM, but we will not be offended if you leave after the refreshment break. More details on AGM 2025
